One of the longest-standing veterans in the house space has turned his attention to Chris Lake‘s Black Book Records. And that’s none other than Armand Van Helden, who has partnered with an up-and-coming name in Brittles for a riveting two-track EP, NEMO. Including both the original and a quick-paced remix from Ango Tamarin, NEMO breathes fresh life into Black Book Records’ repertoire and marks Van Helden’s first label appearance since The Answer EP with the label boss in 2022. Marking only Brittle’s second release of her young career, the two-for-one delivery follows “The Promoter,” which was also a collaboration with Armand Van Helden in June of 2022.

Wondering what NEMO stands for? After a 32-bar buildup in the middle of the single, Van Helden dispels the mystery with the vocals, “Never ever missing out”. The catchy phrase and well-timed entrance of the bass creates the structure for Armand Van Helden’s latest groovy house cut. Not to be left out, Ango Tamarin slams down a fast-tempo version with relentless power on the drum kicks. Drawing parallels to Boris Brejcha‘s pioneered genre of minimal-tech, Tamarin’s remix is a sure-fire bet to get the crowd moving. Stream NEMO below.
