Ashibah‘s career has taken her across the globe—whether it be performing at renowned festivals or collaborating with international superstars. With roots in Denmark, Egypt, and Brazil, this DJ/producer/vocalist utilizes a vast repertoire of musical influences to create magic. Over the years, her talent has been recognized by Vintage Culture and Nora En Pure to name a few, the latter of which recruited her for their collaboration “We Found Love” in 2019.

Now, Lane 8 is the latest to take notice, releasing Ashibah’s three-track EP You May Forget on This Never Happened. With previous releases on imprints like Defected, Spinnin’ Records, and more, Ashibah’s latest project marks her return to the beloved UK-based label, previously releasing “So High” featuring BAKKA (BR) in 2020. The EP is filled with luminous melodies and euphoric soundscapes, reminiscent of Ashibah’s signature production style that listeners know and love.

You May Forget begins with “Cold Type,” a follow up collaboration with BAKKA (BR) and features Scandinavian pop star Nabiha on vocals, providing smooth electronics layered under rhythmic leads. Succeeding tracks “Fall Out” and “You May Forget” add a bit more of a dancefloor-friendly cadence, providing feel-good energy mixed with emotional and reflective lyrics.

This summer was filled with marquee performances alongside Danny Howard and Vintage Culture in Ibiza, leading into her first Amsterdam Dance Event appearance this year. Ashibah looks ahead to more supporting performances rounding out the year, including one with Peggy Gou at Brazils’ historic L’Occitane Theatre in November.
