Diplo, HUGEL & Julia Church combine forces on ‘Stay High’: Listen

For their first official collaboration ever, American superstar Diplo and French latin house wizard HUGEL took a rework route and delivered a groovy rendition of Tove Lo’s evergreen hit Habits (Stay High).

Going into this release, the majority of fans certainly would not expect Diplo & HUGEL to rework one of the greatest radio hits of the last decade: Habits (Stay High) by Tove Lo. They did just that. Some classic tracks or radio hits are being reworked into oblivion, whereas Habits (Stay High) didn’t really receive that kind of treatment. This version in particular should be able to present the original to new masses.

Responsible for the vocals on Stay High is Julia Church, who threw everything she got onto the track and made it perfect. The soothing vocal performance opens the track, immediately demanding listeners attention on top of a layer of smooth pads to provide the foundation. Very quickly, the driving percussion arrives to lift the energy to the next level, while Church continues to steal the show with her voice.

For Diplo, he has shown throughout his career that he is one of the most versatile and accessible producers on the planet, constantly delivering huge singles that easily hold their own on the dance floor, playlists, or receiving radio play. Stay High sees him showcasing is house and pop sensibilities, writing a compact and driving single that is hugely enjoyable.
