Fred again.. imparts new indie-house gem, ‘Admit It (U Don’t Want 2)’

Fred John Philip Gibson, known professionally as Fred again.., has cemented his second collaborative single of 2022. Out now via Atlantic Records, “Admit It (U Don’t Want 2)” features London-based producer India Jordan. Jordan initially sent Fred the track’s foundational loops just over a year ago. Then, in December of 2021, the producer pair locked in for a few sessions, “accompanied by some lovely walks down the River Thames,” to materialize the final master recording.

“It was such an effortless joy working with India on this,” Fred again.. mused in a recent statement, “We made it in like three sessions and finished it on the rooftop where I live.” The Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2022 went on to explain how Jordan would road test the record during its demo stages, and the two creatives would “[evolve] the tune based on the reaction.” He also touched on the single’s conceptual background, stating,

“We both wanted to make something that just honored the feeling of hearing ‘u don’t want 2…..admit that it hurts you’ in a rave. That line really resonated with us.”
