In late August, Creamfields marked the final large European dance festival of the summer. Not to be outdone, nearby Reading Festival showcased multiple genres including rap, hip-hop, indie, and electronic offerings. In a surprise announcement on the day of the event, Pendulum shared news that they would play a special show at Reading, which of course resulted in one of the week’s top highlights.

Shocking to thousands of attendees, the English crowd packed out the dance stage for a rare Pendulum appearance. Consisting of Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen, and Paul Harding, Pendulum has a diverse background as a band with an instantly recognized production style that laces together drum n’ bass, rock, and even progressive house. One of the most beloved standouts in the group’s sprawling catalog, “The Island Pt. 1 (Dawn)” incited one of the most spirited moments of the entire show a well as an unreleased ID at the 20-minute mark and an unreleased remix of Enter Shikari’s “Sorry You’re Not A Winner.” A can’t-miss band on any festival lineup, Pendulum has shared their latest festival set via YouTube.
