Gryffin and Blanke‘s debut collaboration, “Colors,” has been in the works since Blanke remixed the former’s 2018 single, “Tie Me Down” with Elley Duhe—and it shows. Featuring London-based singer-songwriter Eyelar, their balanced, stylistically complementary outing represents the latest single in the run up to Gryffin’s sophomore album, Alive, due later this year. Debuted back in May at Sunset Music Festival, “Colors”—which actually includes a co-production credit from Nurko—predecessors “Reckless” (with ), “Caught Up” (with Olivia O’Brian), “Alive” (with Calle Lehmann), and “You Were Loved” (with OneRepublic).

“Colors” trails Blanke’s recent ÆON:EDIT of Ray Volpe‘s “Laserbeam,” as well as his three-track drum ‘n’ bass EP, ÆON:ONE released via Deadbeats in June. After wading in drum ‘n’ bass waters for a string of releases, Blanke is back in touch with his melodic-bass side on the Alive album preview.

Gryffin, meanwhile, is preparing for a two-night run at the Brooklyn Mirage, where he’ll kick off Alive‘s supporting tour from August 18 – 19. Tickets for the August 19 show are sold out, but a limited number remain for the August 18 opener and can be purchased here.
