Barely a week removed from Palaces coming out, Honey & Badger previewed a new rework for his favorite track from Flume’s album, although he had no immediate plans as to what he would do with it. But to no one’s surprise, the Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2022 received a flurry of comments calling for its release, leading to a surprise post less than two weeks later with a SoundCloud and Audius link to his take on Flume and Laurel’s meeting, “I Can’t Tell.”

We already saw how seamlessly Palaces had translated into house form through Tchami‘s “Say Nothing” rework and Honey & Badger confirms that once more. And even though he didn’t receive its actual stems, the Belgian talent still made it sound like as close to an official undertaking as possible, swapping out Flume’s future bass-trap framework and guiding Laurel’s “I Can’t Tell” vocals with his own sweltering package of tech-house to give house DJs the opportunity to add another part of Palaces to their sets.
