Oeksound shows off new plugin Bloom at NAMM ’24

The music industry is currently tuned into the festivities of NAMM 2024 taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center in southern California. While there is plenty to see on-site and online regarding the event, the team at Oeksound has unveiled an exciting new release that is capturing the industry’s attention.

Users of Oaksound plug-ins know that the team does not release very often and this latest announcement marks four years since they made Soothe2 available to the public. For a team so dedicated to perfecting its craft, the wait time is understandable and certainly makes the announcement of Bloom a welcome and exciting moment for producers and sound engineers around the world. Crafted using the utmost precision and finely shaped algorithms, Bloom is an adaptive tone shaper that will help smooth out and provide warmth to any track or sound.

“Bloom does what people often do with an EQ, but automates a lot of the manual work, especially when working with changing material. It can also be more transparent than an EQ because of its adaptive nature. Instead of static filters, Bloom calibrates boosts and cuts in real-time to match the actual need at that moment.” – Tommi Gröhn, DSP developer, co-founder of Oeksound Ltd.

Increasing the ‘amount’ of control can help to balance out any sound and help to better prepare for the mixing process. With controls that have been fine-tuned by the team at Oeksound, the results smooth out a sound and enhance the tonal quality of it. Included as well are four frequency sliders that can operate similarly to an EQ but without the hard cuts, helping to alter the overall balance while further shaping the tone in both minor and major ways. Producers can further refine a sound by using the compressor-like squash mode or adjusting the attack and release controls, mid/side functionality, and low latency mode.
