VASSY, GT_Ofice celebrate tenacity on ‘TUFF’

As one of the electronic genre’s most prominent voices, VASSY knows a thing or two about being “TUFF.” In a team up with GT_Ofice hosted on CAINE Records, the multi-platinum singer-songwriter translates her personal practices of tenacity and perseverance to lyrical motifs in a buoyant, piano-led framework well-positioned for summer play out.

Sonically, “TUFF” signals VASSY’s resolve to experiment with different styles; “After the success of ‘Chase‘ going No. 1, I wanted to go in a different direction, as I love doing that with records—changing it up,” the Aussie force to be reckoned with remarked. “I have always wanted to write a song using this expression ‘when the going gets tough, the tough gets going,’ as it resonates with me,” VASSY elaborated. “I think most people can relate to this song because everyone has their ups and downs and sometimes, you just need a little motivation to get through them!”

“TUFF” marks VASSY and GT_Ofice’s first musical meeting. The latter orchestrates a weekly radio serial via Energy 101.9 FM (San Jose, California) while juggling a career in music that’s seen him man the decks at Las Vegas, Miami, and New York City venues.

“I have always been a fan and wanted to work with VASSY, so when I heard from her, I was excited to collaborate,” GT_Ofice said. “‘TUFF’ was an instant connection. Her songwriting is always so authentic so I wanted the production to be the same; I went for a bouncy piano uplifting anthemic vibe.
