Wax Motif, Matroda reconvene for Latin-influenced single, ‘La Candela Viva’

After remixing four (!) songs from Drake‘s latest LP, Honestly, Nevermind, in June, Wax Motif has joined forces with Matroda to fuel the summer heat wave with their long-awaited Latin house ID, “La Candela Viva.” Wax Motif and Matroda have teased the track at a number of festivals over the past few months, most notably at EDC Las Vegas 2022, where Matroda joined Wax onstage during the latter’s set, garnering audible approval from the crowd. “La Candela Viva” isn’t the first time that the two house music heavyweights have joined forces; they previously teamed up in 2019 to remix Missy Elliot’s “Lose Control.”

“La Candela Viva” sources its vocal sample from Colombian vocalist Totó la Momposina. Accompanying the sample with a dance floor-facing bassline, Wax Motif and Matroda assert their synergy on the number as Wax simultaneously teases another Latin-influenced production via Instagram.
