Good Morning Mix: Audien delivers 60 minutes of progressive house on exclusive mix
October 5, 2022CRANE Birmingham to reopen this month with string of headline shows
October 5, 2022After eight years of producing music and touring together, bass duo X&G will hang it up. Interested in pursuing their own solo careers, Xian and Gaszia announced in July that 2022 will be the last year of X&G. Esteemed within the bass community, among the broader dance environment, X&G’s latest single “Void Theory” lands on an equally lauded label, fittingly finding a home on RL Grime‘s powerhouse imprint, Sable Valley. “Void Theory” follows “Someday” which was also released on Sable Valley through on label’s Summer Vol. 3 mixtape.
“Void Theory’s” spooky synths lead into a swift drum sequence, before X&G layers their signature experimental bass sound over a snappy drum n’ bass layout. Deeper into the track, X&G surprises listeners with a switch into a heavy trap bassline encased in heavily distorted vocals. While it is unclear if “Void Theory” will be the duo’s final release, we know we’re well into the X&G victory lap at this point. Stream “Void Theory” below.
