Ever since Lee Foss hit the stage at The Brooklyn Mirage back in September, there was an unbroken search for whoever was behind the ID that sampled 50 Cent and The Game’s 2004 classic, “How We Do.” It didn’t take too long for CID and Joshwa to confirm that it belonged to them and quickly find themselves receiving hundreds upon hundreds of requests for it to be released. More than five months and endless set plays later, CID and Joshwa could’ve only taken their tie-up to Foss’ Repopulate Mars for its official delivery.

We’re all well aware of the current ongoing debate surrounding sampling hip-hop and R&B classics from the 2000s, but there’s zero debate that when it’s done carried out properly, it’s worth a library add. CID and Joshwa have respectively achieved that numerous times before and they finally chose to stand together on the release line, validly reimagining 50 Cent’s iconic chorus—while still delivering a production that holds its own without it—through an eruption of burning tech-house and formally ensuring that anyone and everyone will be hearing it live leading into this summer.
